A welcome retreat this year (and any year, really) for me is the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad, California. Right on the edge of the drive versus fly decision from Phoenix, San Diego, California is a quick trip. When it is just too darn hot, California is close by. The November trip is our third visit to Carlsbad this year, each was a long-weekend out of town.
The Park Hyatt Aviara is a luxury resort with an amazing spa, great restaurants, good family pool, and a 21 and over adult tranquility pool where we spend most of our time.
Everything is located on the resort property for the perfect little get-a-way. Spectacular views, great dining, fabulous service, and the Aviara will melt any stress away!
There are orchids at every turn, for a distinctive orchid aroma and elegance throughout the property.
The rooms are big and luxurious, many with fantastic views from the balcony! The weather is perfect for morning coffee on the balcony (in slippers), lounging by the pool, and between spa appointments in the spa relation room.
The spa is a bigger, better version of the sister Hyatt spa in Scottsdale. The spa services are incredible! Large steam room, sauna, and hot tub, plus this fabulous (appropriately named) relaxation room. Light snack, tea and refreshing beverages are available through the spa visit.
If you do leave the resort, there are plenty of great activities, including the Encinitas Mediation Gardens, Pacific Ocean Beach, USS Midway aircraft carrier, and more great dining.
The Aviara in Carlsbad, California is a world-class resort just a hop, skip, and short flight away!
No special consideration was given to me other than being a paying guest at this property.
